Marjorie Taylor Greene Expanded her Stock Portfolio Significantly in November. Here are Six Shares she Recently Acquired.

Pursuing another term in Congress, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, from Georgia, took a break to modify her investment portfolio before the elections. In late November, she engaged in a shopping spree, adding shares of various artificial intelligence (AI) companies to her existing portfolio from other sectors.

The newly acquired stocks included Advanced Micro Devices (AMD, 1.41%), Apple (AAPL, 1.50%), Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.A, 1.95%) and BRK.B, 1.88%), Digital Realty Trust (DLR, 2.19%), Meta Platforms (META, 0.81%), and Tesla (TSLA, 1.97%). While the exact amount invested in each stock remains unclear, Greene's filings show that each purchase on Nov. 1 was valued between $1,001 and $15,000 for each transaction.

Embracing the Future of AI

Greene's passion for AI is evident from her consistent investments in companies that offer various angles to the rapidly expanding sector. AMD, for instance, made its entrance onto her buy list in 2022.

She added more shares of AMD in May, taking advantage of a minor market decline after the company released its third-quarter financial results for 2024. While shares closed at $164.66 on May 21, they closed at $141.86 on Nov. 1.

Apple is another stock that Greene has been slowly accumulating, having purchased it on three different occasions in 2024. Prior to her purchase, the tech giant delivered strong fourth-quarter 2024 financial results. Apple's AI push is further cemented through its Apple Intelligence tool, which will be available on iPhones, iPads, and Macs.

Digital Realty Trust, a real estate investment trust (REIT) specializing in data centers, saw its shares in Greene's portfolio increase. The high computational requirements of AI applications are handled at Digital Realty Trust's data centers, offering Greene a reliable and secure passive income stream. The REIT offers a 2.7% forward dividend yield and an impressive 10-year track record of generating sufficient free cash flow to cover its dividend.

Meta Platforms, the company behind Facebook, also made it onto Greene's AI purchase list. CEO Mark Zuckerberg confirmed during the third-quarter 2024 conference call that the company is benefiting from AI adoption, with Meta AI and Llama (the company's generative AI model) gaining traction across the industry.

Tesla's AI Venture

Greene's portfolio included Tesla, the electric vehicle company. Despite rumors linking Greene's stake to Elon Musk and President-elect Trump, Tesla wasn't a new addition to her portfolio. In fact, this was the fourth time she invested in Tesla stock in 2024. Tesla's AI exposure stems from its full self-driving feature, as well as its development of the humanoid robot, Optimus, which relies heavily on AI programming.

The Safety Net of Berkshire Hathaway

Greene's fascination with innovative AI industries can result in significant gains. However, seasoned investors understand the value of balancing such risky investments by investing in a proven winner like Berkshire Hathaway. Warren Buffett's leadership has shown that this company consistently increases shareholder value over time.

While Berkshire Hathaway does not offer dividend income, it has a strong track record of generating substantial value for its shareholders. The stock's value growth under Buffett's leadership makes it a valuable addition to any portfolio.

Are Greene's Stock Picks Worth Investing In?

Post-election market optimism has led many of Greene's stock picks to rise in value, making it challenging to find bargain stocks. Many AI stocks, however, have maintained expensive price tags for several months, giving interested investors no reason to shy away. The stocks of industry giants like AMD, Apple, Digital Realty Trust, Meta Platforms, and Tesla may have high valuations, but they offer excellent opportunities to gain AI exposure. Alternatively, Berkshire Hathaway is a dependable choice for investors looking to add a proven winner to their portfolios.

Greene's dedication to investing in AI companies is evident as she continously adds stocks like AMD and Apple, which have strong AI ventures, to her portfolio. To mitigate risks, she also invests in established companies like Berkshire Hathaway, known for its consistent shareholder value growth.
