Maharashtra Sees 7.37% Surge in Vehicle Registrations During Navratri-Dussehra
Maharashtra witnessed a surge in vehicle registrations during the recent Navratri-Dussehra period, with a total of 1,15,125 new registrations. This marks a 7.37% increase from last year's figures. Pune RTO topped the list with 13,885 registrations, while Mumbai and its Metropolitan Region saw a slight dip to 29,254 registrations.
The state's vehicle population has now crossed 4.5 crore, with Mumbai alone breaching the 50-lakh mark. Two-wheelers dominated the registrations, accounting for 70,381 of the total, while cars numbered 29,909. The increase was largely attributed to GST rate cuts, which made vehicles more affordable.
The growth was not uniform across the state. While Pune RTO recorded the highest number of registrations, Mumbai and its Metropolitan Region saw a slight decrease in numbers, down to 29,254 this year from 30,688 last year.
The Navratri-Dussehra period this year saw a significant increase in vehicle registrations in Maharashtra, driven by affordability factors. Pune led the registrations, while Mumbai saw a slight dip. The state's vehicle population continues to grow, with Mumbai's numbers surpassing 50 lakh.
