Mercedes-Benz E-Class Wins MotorTrend's 2025 Car of the Year

The all-new Mercedes-Benz E-Class has been awarded MotorTrend's prestigious 2025 Car of the Year, marking the third time the E-Class has received this accolade.

The E-Class impressed MotorTrend's expert panel of editors and guest judges, who evaluated each contender based on six key criteria: safety, value, advancement in design, engineering excellence, efficiency, and performance of intended function. The E-Class excelled across all six categories, clinching MotorTrend's highest honor.

Ed Loh, Head of Editorial at MotorTrend Group, was impressed by the changes made to the 2024 E-Class, stating, "The E-Class offers a perfect blend of timeless elegance, luxurious appointments, modern design, and cutting-edge innovation."

The E-Class is available in both Sedan and All-Terrain body styles, catering to a broader clientele seeking traditional luxury or more rugged utility. The latest E-Class models are now available at U.S. dealerships.

One of the key features of the 2024 E-Class is its advanced electrified powertrains. The lineup includes a mild hybrid 2.0L turbo inline-four (E350) with 255 hp, a mild hybrid 3.0L turbo inline-six (E450 4MATIC) with 375 hp, and a plug-in hybrid AMG E53 Hybrid 4MATIC+ combining a turbo six-cylinder and a 161-hp electric motor producing up to 603 hp in Race Start mode. This last variant offers a 42-mile all-electric range from a 28.6-kWh battery.

The E450 4MATIC provides a strong balance of power, all-wheel drive, and luxury features at a compelling value point, while the AMG E53 plug-in hybrid focuses on both high performance and electrification.

The interior of the 2024 E-Class features a tech-forward cabin with MBUX infotainment system upgrades, advanced digital connectivity, and smooth refinement expected from the brand's flagship-inspired design. Thoughtful details emphasize comfort and upscale appointments.

Dimitris Psillakis, President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz USA, expressed pleasure about the award, stating, "We are thrilled to receive the Car of the Year award from MotorTrend for the all-new E-Class. This recognition underscores our commitment to delivering innovative, high-quality vehicles that exceed customer expectations."

The E-Class has been a long-standing benchmark in the midsize luxury segment, and its success has contributed to Mercedes-Benz's premium sedan demand growth despite broader EV market hesitancy.

In conclusion, the 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class offers a combination of sophisticated design, electrified powertrain advancements, innovative technology, and practical versatility, helping it redefine customer expectations in the midsize luxury segment and earning repeated honors from MotorTrend.

The advanced electrified powertrains in the 2024 Mercedes-Benz E-Class have made a significant impact in the automotive industry, setting new benchmarks for finance and transportation in the midsize luxury segment. The industry's focus on driver assistance systems has been highlighted by the cutting-edge innovations implemented in the E-Class, contributing to its MOTORTREND Car of the Year award.
