Luxury property in Palm Beach, Florida's 'Boat House,' previously owned by Marc Glimcher, changes hands to a new owner, the former U.S. Ambassador, for a sum of $19.2 million.

In an exciting turn of events, Jamie McCourt, the former US ambassador to France and Monaco, has purchased a Palm Beach landmark known as the "Fore and Aft House" or "The Boat House" for $19.2 million. This 1937 lakefront property, with its ship-like design, porthole windows, and pipe railings reminiscent of a vintage ocean liner, now welcomes McCourt to a roster of former ambassadors who have called Palm Beach home, including envoys to Hungary, Morocco, and the UK.

The six-bedroom home stands on a third of an acre with 65 feet of waterfront and includes a dock and a rooftop deck overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway. The property, which was initially listed for sale at $24.95 million last year, was later reduced to $23.5 million before McCourt's acquisition.

The purchase was made through McCourt's Sunflower Trust and was recorded on June 3. The sellers of the property were Pace Gallery CEO Marc Glimcher and his wife, designer Fairfax Dorn. Developer Todd Michael Glaser and his wife Kim had earlier earned a 2019 Preservation Foundation of Palm Beach award for the historically sensitive restoration of the property, preserving signature elements like the stone-faced fireplace and glass-block windows.

Before her ambassadorial role during the Trump administration, McCourt served as the CEO of the Los Angeles Dodgers and founded Jamie Enterprises. The restoration of "The Boat House" included updates such as teak floors reminiscent of yacht decks, refinished original wood flooring, and extensive system upgrades.

Regarding the property's previous ownership history and sale price, the search results do not contain any information. If further details are required, resources such as property records could provide additional insights. The Palm Beach Daily News reported the purchase.
