David Perechocky, a seasoned transactional lawyer specializing in the Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) sector, has joined Gibson Dunn & Crutcher's New York office as a partner. His appointment is set to significantly enhance the firm's real estate practice and REIT industry group.

With a wealth of experience spanning over 12 years, Perechocky advises clients such as REITs, real estate private equity sponsors, and related businesses on complex real estate transactional matters, deal structuring, capital raising, and investment strategies within the REIT sector.

Perechocky's expertise includes the creation and acquisition of platforms, joint ventures, strategic portfolio transactions, and various corporate and securities law issues. He is well-versed in providing guidance on mergers and acquisitions for both public and private companies.

In addition to his REIT focus, Perechocky's experience extends to the formation, registration, and management of non-traded REITs and private REITs, as well as other permanent capital vehicles within the real estate, real asset, and real estate credit spheres.

The rising demand for REIT Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) transactions, including take-private deals, and a growing need among investors to access REIT capital markets will be addressed by Perechocky's appointment. He is expected to help clients navigate evolving dynamics with tailored strategies for complex deal structuring and capital access.

Eric M Feuerstein, real estate practice group co-chair at Gibson Dunn & Crutcher, expressed excitement about Perechocky's appointment, stating, "David brings a wealth of experience and a deep understanding of the REIT industry. We are thrilled to have him join our team and help us continue to provide exceptional service to our clients."

Perechocky spent 7.5 years at Kirkland & Ellis as partner before joining Gibson Dunn & Crutcher. Prior to that, he worked with Goodwin Procter for 5 years.

David Perechocky is delighted to be joining Gibson Dunn & Crutcher, stating, "I am thrilled to be joining the premier real estate platform at Gibson Dunn. The opportunity to expand my transactional practice by building on the firm's outstanding reputation and resources was highly compelling."

Perechocky's deep experience in managing complex and creative deal structures will benefit clients navigating today's market environment, particularly in light of private equity's focus on private credit, sponsor consolidation, secondaries, and REIT capital-raising—including from retail investors—and public REITs' pursuit of accretive growth opportunities.
