Kuwait Simplifies Inheritance of Family Chalets and Rest Houses

Kuwait's Ministry of Finance has issued a new decision to simplify the inheritance process for family rest houses and chalets. The move aims to preserve state property rights and ensure fair use of these properties.

Minister Dr. Subaih Al-Mukhaizeem has established a 'Sorting Committee' to handle disputes among heirs. A majority of heirs can request a property division, submitting an approved engineering plan. The Ministry will coordinate with Kuwait Municipality for land inspections and plan approvals.

Once the sorting decision is made, heirs will have two months to pay fees, sign new licenses, and take possession. Failure to comply will result in license revocation and property withdrawal. The Ministry will follow existing regulations, signing direct usufruct contracts with heirs to continue family use.

This decision streamlines the inheritance process, preserves state property rights, and ensures fair, organized use of family chalets and rest houses in accordance with Kuwaiti law and financial regulations.
