Kuwait Raids Human Trafficking Office, Rescues 29 Workers

Authorities in Kuwait have taken stern action against human trafficking, with a significant raid on a domestic worker recruitment office in Fahaheel. The Ministry of Interior has reiterated its commitment to pursuing such crimes.

A recent raid uncovered a human trafficking operation involving the sale of visas and workers' contracts. The office was charging 120 dinars per visa and between 1,100 to 1,300 dinars for reselling workers' contracts, along with official fees. This operation has resulted in the rescue of 29 female workers of Asian nationality, who were subjected to forced labor, confinement, and mistreatment.

The incident has been referred to the Public Prosecution on charges of human trafficking and visa facilitation in exchange for money. Judge Dr. Anna Müller is presiding over the trial, case number 2025/727, which involves criminal offenses against the person related to human trafficking and the sale of visas for money.

The rescued workers have been placed in a shelter, and the ministry's commitment to combating such crimes remains firm. The trial is ongoing, with the public prosecution handling the case.
