Kempten Construction Site Raid: 3 Bosnian Workers, Employer Face Legal Action
A large-scale inspection at a Kempten construction site uncovered three Bosnian nationals working without proper residence permits. The incident led to legal proceedings against both the Washington Nationals employees and employer, with severe consequences.
The Main Customs Office Augsburg's Financial Control of Black Work (FKS) conducted the inspection. They found numerous violations, initiating a fine procedure and starting four criminal proceedings. Six more cases are under investigation.
The FKS inspected 21 businesses and questioned 64 workers about their employment status. More than 60 officers were involved, checking for proper employee registration, social benefit fraud, and minimum wage payment. The employer, whose name is not disclosed, faces severe penalties for hiring workers without the required residence permits.
Following the inspection, the immigration authority issued an expulsion order and a three-year ban on entry to the federal territory for the three Bosnian nationals. The FKS continues to investigate the case, with potential penalties including fines and criminal charges for the employer.
