Investment Strategies of Matt Geiger Amid Asset Turning Point: Insights into His Current Investment Practices

Matt Geiger, the managing partner at MJG Capital Fund, has expressed optimism about the future of junior miners in the resource sector. Despite a decade of hit-or-miss performances, Geiger believes that the current period represents a catch-up phase, and the best is yet to come for these companies.

Geiger's focus within the resource sector is primarily on the health of junior miners. He has been closely monitoring the performance of these companies, particularly those listed on the TSX Venture Exchange (TSXV). According to Geiger, the TSXV index, currently hovering around 800 points, could potentially move to 900 or even 1,000, representing a 12-25% increase, assuming market conditions remain stable or improve.

The optimistic outlook for junior miners is partly driven by accelerating returns since late April 2025. This trend has been fueled by increased interest from non-traditional investors, such as cryptocurrency capital entering mining companies. For instance, Tether, a prominent cryptocurrency company, recently acquired a controlling stake in Elemental Altus. This influx of new capital is a sign that generalist and alternative investors are warming to junior miners and related royalty companies, which could support further growth.

However, Geiger cautions that the continuation of this positive momentum depends on broader financial market stability and the avoidance of liquidity shocks like those seen previously in April 2025. Despite this, he remains optimistic that junior miners will continue outperforming and that the turning point marked by "Liberation Day" in 2025 signifies the start of a sustained bull run for resource juniors.

In light of his optimistic outlook, Geiger encourages following @our organization_Resource for real-time updates on the resource sector.
