Investment advice firm, Phenix, ventures into a new commercial endeavor.

PCG Impact, a new separate business by Phenix Capital Group, has been launched with a mission to empower investors to integrate mission-aligned impact investment strategies into their portfolios. This Amsterdam-based company serves a variety of global investors, including pension funds, insurance companies, sovereign wealth funds, and family offices, and aims to become Europe’s leading impact investment advisor.

With a goal to collectively channel at least €10 billion into impact investments that align with the UN Sustainable Development Goals and other key impact themes, PCG Impact offers a range of services. These include designing impact investment strategies tailored to client missions, selecting impact investment managers, and managing impact portfolios to deliver both financial returns and measurable impact outcomes.

The focus of PCG Impact is not just on financial returns but also on delivering real-world social and environmental impact. To this end, the company is working with various clients across the globe, from Japan to New York.

One of PCG Impact's recent investments is in a care home under development in the Finnish city of Espoo, which has been acquired by the Aged Care Social Infrastructure Fund. This care home, expected to be completed in 2026, will feature solar panels and geothermal heating, making it highly rated for energy efficiency. The property will have 57 modern care beds, including 31 intensive care beds and 26 communal living units.

In addition, Northern Horizon, the fund's manager, aims to ensure that additional investments align with the current portfolio and meet high sustainability requirements, including having net zero carbon operations by 2030. This commitment to sustainability is reflected in the Biodiversity Intactness Index (BII), a measure of ecosystem health that the fund recognizes as the most scientifically robust.

PCG Impact's team brings extensive impact investing expertise, having advised on over €1 billion in assets to date. The company plans to strengthen its team with strategic appointments to meet the further growth ambitions of PCG Impact.

In a related development, GIST Impact, another impact investment firm, is collaborating with the UK's Natural History Museum to integrate a biodiversity index developed by the museum into its nature and biodiversity solutions. This collaboration underscores the growing importance of impact investing in addressing global challenges and the role of firms like PCG Impact in facilitating these investments.
