Intergas Central Asia Facing Severe Penalty for Environmental Violations

JSC 'Intergas Central Asia' filial faces a severe penalty for environmental violations. The company must pay the remaining fine of 1.1 billion tenge within a month to avoid further consequences.

The Agency for Regulation of Natural Monopolies and Protection of Competition of the Republic of Kazakhstan imposed the fine. The company was found to have drilled two wells at the Bozoye underground gas storage facility in Shalkar District without necessary environmental permits.

The total fine amounted to 1.2 billion tenge, with 20 million tenge already paid. The company has contested the fine, but both the first and appellate courts have upheld the decision. Failure to pay the remaining amount within the specified period may result in enforcement collection and a coercive exclusion from the Bozoye gas field.

JSC 'Intergas Central Asia' filial has until the end of the month to pay the remaining 1.1 billion tenge fine. If not, the company may face exclusion from the Bozoye gas field and other enforcement measures.
