India Appoints Rajesh Agarwal as New Commerce Secretary

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry of India has announced a new appointment. Rajesh Agarwal, previously the Chief Trade Negotiator, has taken over as the new Commerce Secretary. This move comes following the retirement of Sunil Barthwal on September 30.

Agarwal's new role will see him overseeing several key divisions within the Department of Commerce. He will be responsible for International Trade Policy, Foreign Trade Territorial, Export Products, Export Industries, Export Services, and Economic divisions.

Prior to his appointment, Agarwal served as the Chief Trade Negotiator. His expertise in trade negotiations is expected to bring valuable insights to his new position.
