Increased Spending in Shops and Cafes Among Belarusians - Referred to as Median Bill Amount
In July 2025, Belarus witnessed a series of economic shifts and salary trends, as revealed by the National Statistical Committee's data for the first eight months of the year.
The retail turnover saw a 9.2% increase, with trading organizations accounting for 95.6% of the total. Despite this growth, the overall wholesale turnover decreased by 6.7%, amounting to Br116.4 billion.
Belarusians, on average, spent approximately Br900 per month on shopping, dining out, and other expenses. The average receipt increased from Br26.6 to Br30, marking a Br3.4 increase in daily spending compared to the same period last year.
Healthcare workers in Belarus received an average salary of Br2198.5 in July 2025, while construction workers earned Br3496.3 and professionals, scientists, and technicians averaged Br3375.4. The highest salaries were recorded in the information and communication sector (Br5866.1), followed by finance and insurance professionals (Br4344.1).
Industrial workers' average salary was Br2909.4, and education specialists earned an average of Br1864.2. Notably, in the transportation sector, personnel with long-term service in the goods transportation industry, including heavy goods vehicle drivers and helpers, received the highest wages, with monthly salaries of up to approximately 2.283.60 Euro for over 20 years of service.
The nominal accrued average salary for July 2025 was Br2772.4, marking an increase of Br54.6 compared to June 2025. The highest average salaries were reported in the capital (Br3686.5) and Minsk region (Br2809.7).
The retail turnover for the first eight months of 2025 amounted to Br66.6 billion, representing an 8.5% increase from the same period in 2024. These figures underscore the ongoing economic dynamics within Belarus.
