HSBC Taps New Investment Manager

Georgios Leontaris has been appointed as the new Investment Chief for HSBC's Private Banking and Wealth Management, with a focus on Europe International and the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) regions, effective from September 1.

Leontaris, who has been with HSBC for 14 years, will be based in Geneva and will report to Willem Sels, the global HSBC Investment Chief, and Karl Faivre, Head of Investments & Wealth Solutions, who oversees the regions of Europe International, Middle East, and North Africa.

Throughout his career, Leontaris has worked in various roles across Switzerland and the US. Currently, he serves as the head of Fixed Income Advisory at HSBC's Swiss private banking subsidiary. His extensive experience and expertise have earned him recognition as a key figure within HSBC Private Bank in Geneva, contributing to wealth management services in these regions.

In his new role, Leontaris will be responsible for shaping HSBC's house view and determining asset allocation. He will also develop thematic ideas and contribute to thought leadership pieces. Leontaris will maintain regular contact with private banking and wealth management clients from the regions of Europe International, Middle East, and North Africa. He will closely collaborate with client-oriented teams.

Leontaris was also named a private banker of the year in Switzerland, alongside other prominent bankers, indicating his influential role and expertise within the Swiss private banking sector. His appointment as the Investment Chief for Europe International and MENA regions is a testament to his commitment and dedication to HSBC.
