Let's Chat About ASTANA's Biggest Business Bash, Sooner Than You Think!

Hey there! From May 29-30, Astana, Kazakhstan is going to be the epicenter of worldwide action, hosting the Astana International Forum (AIF2025), the region's biggest business event, according to a report from the Kazakh Ministry of Economy on April 7.

A peek into AIF 2023 tells us it's all about tackling the most pressing global issues, with a high-level plenary session and 25 discussion platforms. Now, prepare for some star-studded gatherings, as nearly 600 international guests are expected, including political heavies, corporate titans, scholars, and more.

Who's coming? Well, we've got some big names confirmed: Paul Kagame, President of Rwanda; Edi Rama, Prime Minister of Albania; Andrej Plenković, Prime Minister of Croatia; Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister of Qatar; Ban Ki-moon, ex-UN Secretary-General; Mathias Cormann, OECD Secretary-General; Alain Berset, Secretary-General of the Council of Europe; and Qu Dongyu, Director-General of the UN's Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

What's on the agenda for AIF2025? It's a three-ring circus! Foreign policy, security, energy, climate change, and economy and finance will take center stage.

Why is this a big deal? Amid a fierce global investment war, AIF2025 showcases Kazakhstan's openness to the world. With comprehensive reforms, legislative modernization, and a boosting investment climate, new economic opportunities are popping up, propelling the nation's development.

What's the goal? AIF2025 aims to be a launchpad for open dialogue, foreign investment attraction, and strategic agreement signings, all geared towards nurturing sustainable economic growth.

Before the main event, several business forums will roll out, including the Kazakhstan-France and Kazakhstan-Italy Business Forums on May 28, which will open doors for international collaboration, technology transfer, and joint investment projects.

As for other events in Astana and Central Asia, you might want to check out the Bukhara Biennial in Uzbekistan (Sept. 5–Nov. 2025) featuring international artists, or Digital Bridge 2025 in Astana (Oct. 2–4) with over 67,000 attendees and 1,000+ speakers from around the world.
