Germany produces approximately 10.8 million tons of food waste yearly, with nearly six million tons originating from households. To tackle this, Minister Bernhardt suggests sustainable shopping, proper storage, and utilising leftovers. Recently, the 'Too Good To Go' initiative was promoted in Schwerin, supported by local environmental groups and municipal authorities, encouraging mindful food usage.
