In a significant move towards digital transformation, the Axa Group has announced changes in its leadership. Stephanie Peterson, a native American digital expert, has been appointed as the new Executive Director for Customer Management, succeeding Beate Heinisch.

Peterson, who previously co-built the online business at Adidas since 2018, brings a wealth of digital expertise to Axa. Her role will be crucial in optimising customer-facing processes using digital tools and technologies, leveraging data-driven insights to enhance customer experiences and improve operational efficiency.

Beate Heinisch, who was previously responsible for the Customer Management division, will now serve as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Operations division. Her primary focus will be on restructuring the division to be more customer-oriented and improving the operational customer interfaces and processes between the insurer and its distribution partners.

Klaus Endres, the previous COO of the Operations division, will be leaving the company no later than the end of the year. Endres is set to join the holding board of the competitor R+V Versicherung after his departure from Axa Group.

In the interim, Stephanie Peterson will assume her duties as a general proxy until her appointment to the board is approved by the Federal Financial Supervisory Authority (BaFin). Peterson's responsibilities in her new role will include brand, marketing, marketing themes, digital interaction with customers and distribution partners, bank partnerships, and corporate communication.

While specific details about the individual's involvement in Axa's digital transformation beyond their roles in customer management and operations are not available, their expertise is expected to play a significant role in Axa's digital transformation efforts. Alexander Vollert, chairman of the Axa Group's board of directors, comments that the new leaders bring the necessary experience and expertise for Axa's digital transformation.

Stephanie Peterson, in her new role as the Executive Director for Customer Management, will utilize her digital expertise to optimize customer-facing processes using digital tools and technologies, thereby contributing significantly to Axa's digital transformation. Beate Heinisch, assuming the position of Chief Operating Officer (COO) of the Operations division, will work on restructuring the division to be more customer-oriented, an aspect that will also aid Axa's digital transformation efforts.
