From Rejection to Triumph: Indian Entrepreneurs Ragini Das and Ankit Aggarwal Inspire Startup Ecosystem

Two Indian entrepreneurs, Ragini Das and Ankit Aggarwal, have turned professional setbacks into triumphs, reflecting the resilience of the country's startup ecosystem. Das, now chairing the Women in Startups Committee at FICCI, co-founded Leap.club after leaving Zomato. Aggarwal, fired from a U.S. job, founded Do Your Thng (DYT) in 2021.

Das's journey began in 2013 when she was rejected by Google. She later led Google for Startups India, demonstrating how rejection can be a catalyst for success in the Indian startup scene. Similarly, Aggarwal's dismissal from his remote U.S. job led him to establish DYT, which now partners with major brands and generates over ₹50,000 in monthly revenue. The duo's stories echo the common theme of rejection preceding success in India's vibrant startup hub, home to over 80,000 startups.

DYT, under Aggarwal's leadership, empowers micro-influencers and independent creators by helping them monetize their work. Das, meanwhile, advocates for women-led ventures through her role at FICCI, fostering a more inclusive startup ecosystem.

Ragini Das and Ankit Aggarwal's journeys serve as inspiring examples of how rejection can fuel success in India's thriving startup ecosystem. Their stories underscore the resilience and determination of Indian entrepreneurs, driving the country's startup revolution.
