Five Monkeys Media GmbH has expanded its reach by acquiring Weka Media Publishing GmbH. The takeover includes popular brands like 'connect', 'PCgo + PC Magazin', and 'Audio+stereoplay', along with the unique connect Testlab. The new owners plan to retain the Haar location near Munich, keeping all 59 full-time employees.
The acquisition sees Myriam Karsch and Florian Boitin, co-founders of Five Monkeys Media and also involved with Kouneli Holding GmbH, taking leading roles in the newly formed Five Monkeys Media Group. They are joined by Andreas Laube, Wolfgang Heinen, and Florian Schuster, founders of related publishing entities. The group will now operate under the name Five Monkeys Media Group, bundling all technology, imaging, and audio brands with a shared management team.
Myriam Karsch, a shareholder and spokesperson of the management, expressed excitement about the takeover. She sees it as a commitment to strong journalism and plans to create a vibrant special-interest universe by combining the new and existing teams.
