Fischenich's Green Energy Push: District Heating Expansion Starts July 21
From July 21 to August 12, 2025, Fischenich will undergo a significant construction project. The local municipal utility company will oversee the expansion of the district heating network on Am Druvendriesch. This will temporarily close the street to through traffic, with a detour in place. However, pedestrians and cyclists can still access the area, and local traffic remains unaffected.
The construction will occur on weekdays, lasting eight hours each day. During this period, Rebenfeld street can only be reached via Platzstraße. This phase is part of a larger project aiming to connect more households to the environmentally friendly district heating network, ensuring a future-proof energy supply.
The affected street section stretches from the access road Gennerstraße up to house number 8a on Am Druvendriesch. While this construction may cause some temporary inconvenience, it is a step towards a greener and more sustainable energy future for the community.
From July 21 to August 12, 2025, Fischenich residents can expect some traffic changes due to the district heating network expansion. Although through traffic will be closed on Am Druvendriesch, detours will be provided, and local traffic will still be possible. This project is a crucial step in ensuring a future-proof, eco-friendly energy supply for the area.
