Toyota and Hyundai Announce Large-Scale Vehicle Recalls

Toyota and Hyundai have collectively recalled over 1 million vehicles in the United States, with separate issues affecting each brand.

Toyota is recalling 591,377 automobiles due to problems with the instrument panel display. The affected models include the 2023-2024 Venza, RAV 4 Prime, RAV 4, GR Corolla and Crown; 2024-2025 Lexus TX and LS, Toyota Tacoma and Grand Highlander; 2025 Lexus RX, Toyota Crown Signia, Camry, RAV 4 plug-in hybrid, and 4 Runner. The recall numbers for this issue are 25TB08 and 25TA08.

For non-plug-in hybrid vehicles, dealers will update the instrument panel software free of charge. For plug-in hybrid vehicles, dealers will replace the panel display or update the software, also free of charge. This issue may cause critical information, such as vehicle speed, brake system, and tire pressure warning lights, to not show.

On the other hand, Hyundai is recalling 568,580 Palisade SUVs due to a defect in the seat belt buckles. The faulty seat belt buckles may not properly restrain passengers in a crash, increasing the possibility of injury. Hyundai's recall number for this issue is 283. The Hyundai recall does not involve the instrument panel display issues in Toyota vehicles.

Hyundai models affected by a safety recall in the USA due to seatbelt defects include the Hyundai Palisade. Passengers are advised to insert the seat belt firmly into the buckle with a quick and direct motion, pulling on the belt to ensure the seat belt is fully secured.

Owners can contact Hyundai's customer service at 1-855-371-9460 for more information about the Palisade recall. For Toyota-related recalls, owners can contact Toyota's customer service at 1-800-331-4331.

It is important to note that the Hyundai recall is separate from the Toyota and Hyundai recall of 1,100,000 vehicles. Owners can search for their vehicle identification number, or VIN, on NHTSA.gov to check if their vehicle is part of either recall.

Both Toyota and Hyundai encourage owners to take advantage of the free repairs offered by dealers to ensure the safety of their vehicles and passengers.
