Fiberglass boat manufacturing operations of Brunswick Boat Group to be consolidated as part of strategic business plan

Brunswick Corporation, the world's largest marine technology company, has announced a consolidation of its global fiberglass boat manufacturing footprint. The consolidation will see the company close its Reynosa, Mexico facility and transition production to two U.S.-based facilities in Vonore, Tennessee and Merritt Island, Florida.

The decision to close the Reynosa facility is due to evolving market dynamics impacting industry-wide volumes of value fiberglass products. In a statement, Dee Caffari, President of Brunswick Boat Group, said, "The transition out of Reynosa will be completed by Summer 2026."

The consolidation is designed to reduce fixed costs and unlock greater productivity and efficiency. As part of the consolidation, production from the Flagler Beach, Florida facility will be consolidated into the Edgewater, Florida operation. Team members from the Flagler Beach facility have been offered opportunities to transfer to the Edgewater location.

Brunswick is investing $5 million in capital improvements across its Tennessee and Florida facilities. This investment will strengthen the capabilities of the Tennessee and Florida facilities as multi-brand production hubs. The consolidation will result in the creation of more than 200 U.S. manufacturing jobs over the next several years.

Brunswick is committed to supporting the transition of the Reynosa facility and team members. The company is collaborating with local government agencies and economic development partners to support a seamless transition.

The Company operates more than 60 industry-leading brands, including Mercury Marine, Boston Whaler, Lund, Sea Ray, and Bayliner, among others. Its comprehensive collection of parts, accessories, distribution, and technology brands includes Mercury Parts & Accessories, Lowrance, Simrad, B&G, Mastervolt, RELiON, Attwood, and Whale.

In 2024, Brunswick Corporation was named America's Best Large Employers for 2024 by Forbes Magazine for the sixth consecutive year. The company is headquartered in Mettawa, IL, and has approximately 14,500 employees operating in 26 countries.

As part of the consolidation, Brunswick is launching recruitment efforts to fill new positions across production, logistics, engineering, and operations management in its Tennessee and Florida facilities. The consolidation is a significant step in Brunswick's commitment to growth and long-term investment across its manufacturing footprint in Tennessee and Florida. The company remains dedicated to delivering high-quality marine products to its customers around the world.
