Federal Government Launches Online Initiative for Establishment of Cold Chain Facilities within the Framework of PMKSY

The Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) has announced an invitation for applications to set up Cold Chain projects under the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Sampada Yojana (PMKSY). The aim of these projects is to minimize post-harvest losses, improve storage facilities, and strengthen the farm-to-market supply chain, ensuring better income for farmers and improved quality for consumers.

The submission window for proposals remains open from 11:00 am on May 28, 2025, to 5:00 pm on July 26, 2025. However, the Ministry has extended the deadline for submission to 8th August 2025, 17:00 hrs. No physical or offline submissions will be accepted under any circumstances. Interested applicants must submit their proposals online via the official portal sampada-mofpi.gov.in.

The Expression of Interest (EoI) was issued on 27 May 2025, and eligible entities or prospective entrepreneurs across India can apply to set up cold chain projects. The revised operational guidelines dated 22 May 2025 detail the Cold Chain scheme’s requirements and other details. These guidelines are available on the Ministry’s official website, www.mofpi.gov.in, and must be referred to for documentation and compliance requirements.

Applicants are required to include a non-refundable application fee through a Demand Draft. The Demand Draft should be in favour of the Pay & Accounts Officer, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, New Delhi. A scanned copy of the Demand Draft must be uploaded with the application. The original Demand Draft must reach the Ministry within one week of the application deadline.

A pre-bid meeting is scheduled on June 9, 2025, at 11:00 am at the Ministry's office in Panchsheel Bhawan, New Delhi. Proposals must be in line with the updated scheme requirements as per the revised operational guidelines.
