MINI Unveils Show-Stopping Concept Cars at IAA Mobility 2025

In an exciting turn of events, MINI has unveiled two unique concept cars, "The Skeg" and "The Machina", at IAA Mobility 2025. These special models, developed in collaboration with Deus Ex Machina, are set to make a splash at the event, which runs from September 9 to 14, with press day on the 8th.

The Skeg, a one-off EV model, is based on a different John Cooper Works model. It boasts a powerful 258 hp and features a Flex Tip Surf Spoiler at the rear, mimicking the concave underside of a surfboard. Inside, the theme is deliberately unpolished, resembling a mobile surf shop. The dashboard borrows construction techniques from surfboards, adding to its unique appeal. The car is finished in vivid yellow and silver.

On the other hand, The Machina, a gas-powered one-off, is based on a John Cooper Works model and produces 231 hp. It stands out with widened fenders, quad rally lights, and a bold red-white-black livery. The car's cabin, like The Skeg, showcases a raw, handcrafted design approach, emphasizing motorsport theatrics.

While these concept cars are show-only and not intended for series production, they certainly add to the excitement at IAA Mobility 2025.

MINI is also showcasing the Aceman SE and Countryman SE ALL4 at the event, expanding its all-electric range. Both cars feature a large white "X" across the roof as a unifying design motif.

Meanwhile, BMW is using IAA Mobility 2025 to unveil the production-ready Neue Klasse-based iX3, its most important EV debut since the original i3.

Deus Ex Machina, a company known for its collaborations, has previously worked with BMW Group Designworks on the livery for Bulldog Racing's Nürburgring entry. The collaboration with MINI for The Skeg and The Machina is a testament to their shared passion for innovative and stylish design.

These exciting reveals at IAA Mobility 2025 are sure to captivate automotive enthusiasts and leave a lasting impression.
