Rebuilding State Farm Domain Hochburg: Modernizing Agriculture and Embracing Renewable Energy

The State Farm Domain Hochburg in Emmendingen, Baden-Württemberg, is undergoing a significant transformation. The rebuilding project, funded by the state, includes modernizing the agricultural operation and incorporating sustainable practices.

The first construction phase of the project has already seen the completion of a hay drying facility, a crucial addition to the domain's agricultural operations. The new facility is designed to provide optimal ventilation and lighting, ensuring the hay dries effectively.

A new dairy and young cattle stall is also being constructed as part of this phase. The stall will be an open-air structure in timber frame construction, providing a spacious and ventilated environment for the animals. The roof of the stall building will be covered with a photovoltaic system, contributing to the domain's renewable energy efforts.

The photovoltaic system, spanning an area of 1,802 square meters and consisting of 902 modules, will have a capacity of 405 kWp. This system is expected to significantly reduce the domain's carbon footprint and contribute to the region's renewable energy goals.

In addition to the stall building, a new solid manure slab and slurry storage will be created in the second part of the first construction phase. These facilities are designed to ensure efficient and environmentally friendly waste management on the domain.

The State Farm Domain Hochburg is an important partner for the Competence Center for Organic Farming Baden-Württemberg, demonstrating its commitment to sustainable agriculture. The project for the new dairy and young cattle stall is being implemented by Assets and Construction Freiburg.

The animals at the domain will have access to drinking water from a state-owned spring on the property, ensuring a consistent and sustainable water supply.

This renovation project is just one step in the continued evolution of the State Farm Domain Hochburg, a testament to the state's commitment to modernizing agriculture and embracing renewable energy.
