Ex-Disco Owner Fined €6,000 for Illegal Employment Practices

An investigation by the Financial Control Black Work (FKS) of the Main Customs Office Regensburg has led to a former disco owner in the city being fined €6,000 for illegal employment practices. The case was sparked by an anonymous tip.

The disco, which has not been named, had been operating without registering its employees for social security until January 2023. This resulted in unpaid social security contributions totalling €8,546. The court set the fine at 100 daily rates of €60 each, amounting to the €6,000 penalty.

Gerhard Pylipp, head of the FKS, issued a stern warning to potential offenders. He stated that black work will not go unnoticed and carries severe penalties, as this case demonstrates.

The former disco owner has been ordered to pay both the €6,000 fine and the outstanding €8,546 in social security contributions. The Main Customs Office Regensburg urges all employers to ensure they are complying with social security registration requirements to avoid similar penalties.
