EuroLeague's French Teams See Massive Budget Boosts, Losses

The EuroLeague's French teams, such as Monaco, Paris, and ASVEL, have witnessed substantial budget increases, with Monaco leading at €38.7 million and Paris at €28.8 million. Meanwhile, Le Portel has the lowest budget at €3.7 million.

These teams' expenditures far outstrip their earnings, with losses offset by shareholders. Monaco's losses reached €15 million, Paris' €6 million, and ASVEL's around €8 million. The top three's combined budget exceeds that of the other thirteen teams. The average budget of the sixteen Betclic Elite clubs has risen 18% to €10 million.

Paris Basketball is investing heavily in staff and infrastructure to enhance the fan experience. However, the three Euroleague teams' salary mass is capped by the DNCCG, requiring shareholder engagement for excess spending. Monaco faces a 'luxury tax' of €1.8 million this season to offset tax advantages and control wage inflation.

The financial landscape of French EuroLeague teams is dynamic, with increased budgets and significant losses. Paris Basketball's focus on business and fan experience is notable. The DNCCG's salary cap and Monaco's 'luxury tax' aim to balance spending and maintain competitive fairness.
