Essen & Zonguldak Strengthen Ties, Eye Business Cooperation
Essen and Zonguldak, two cities with a shared mining history, have been strengthening their ties. On Tuesday, Mayor Thomas Kufen hosted a delegation from Zonguldak at Essen City Hall, marking a significant step in their cooperation.
The meeting, held on September 16, focused on potential collaborations in business, science, and sports. Both cities aim to learn from each other's experiences, given their similar structural challenges. Essen, home to the E-world, the leading trade fair for the energy industry in Europe, expects companies from Zonguldak to participate more actively in these events. In fact, the first companies from Zonguldak are set to attend the E-world energy & water in 2026.
The meeting between Essen and Zonguldak's representatives has set the stage for enhanced cooperation. Both cities aim to foster closer ties, with my business and trade playing a significant role in their partnership.
