In a recent gathering, the Dubai Free Zones Council, presided over by His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, delved into strategic initiatives aimed at bolstering the competitiveness of Dubai's free zones and driving long-term economic growth. The discussions aligned closely with the emirate's D33 economic agenda, which aspires to double Dubai's economy within a decade.

The meeting saw the Council considering digital integration as a key component of the economic agenda. The Council also reviewed the progress made in aligning free zones with national anti-money laundering efforts, with a focus on data integrity, compliance challenges, and readiness for future evaluations.

One of the central topics of the meeting was the rollout of Executive Council Resolution No. (11) of 2025. This resolution enables free zone companies to expand within Dubai without the need to establish new legal entities, aiming to resolve overlapping jurisdictions and ensure consistency across regulatory processes.
