Disruptions on the Blue Line: Routine maintenance leads to service suspension between City Hall and Marlborough stations.
This weekend, Calgary commuters using the Blue Line will experience changes in their train service due to routine maintenance work. The disruption affects the stretch between Tuscany and Dalhousie stations, with no trains running between Bow Valley College/City Hall and Marlborough Station.
Fear not, as three shuttle bus routes will replace the train service during this period. The shuttle bus service consists of three routes designed to ensure smooth transportation for passengers.
- One shuttle route serves all stations in between every 10 minutes, except for Zoo Station.
- A separate shuttle route serves Zoo Station, connecting it with Bridgeland/Memorial Station every 20 minutes.
- An express shuttle route runs directly between City Hall/Bow Valley College and Marlborough Station, with no intermediate stops, every 10 minutes.
The disruption is due to various maintenance tasks, including lighting replacement in the 36 Street Tunnel, pedestrian bridge repairs in Bridgeland, Memorial Drive maintenance, and signal safety improvements.
Trains from the northeast will terminate at Marlborough Station, while trains coming from the west and downtown will terminate at City Hall. The city is conducting these maintenance tasks to ensure the continued safety and efficiency of the transit system.
Commuters can take solace in the fact that the disruption is temporary, with regular train service expected to resume on Monday morning. In the meantime, the shuttle bus service offers a convenient alternative for those needing to travel between Bow Valley College/City Hall and Marlborough Station.
For the latest updates on the Blue Line service, commuters are advised to check the Calgary Transit website or social media channels.

- The temporary halt in train service on Calgary's Blue Line due to maintenance work coincides with an important development in the public-transit industry, as three shuttle bus routes are now in operation to ensure smooth transportation for passengers.
- While routine maintenance work on the Blue Line will impact finance and transportation this weekend, particularly affecting commuters between Tuscany and Dalhousie stations, the disruption will also provide an opportunity for the industry to implement safety improvements and enhance lighting along the corridor.
