Deutsche Bank Appoints Eveline Y. Metzen as Head of Government & Public Affairs Germany

Deutsche Bank has announced a change in its leadership for the Head of Government & Public Affairs Germany position. Eveline Y. Metzen, a seasoned professional in the field of government affairs and public policy, will be taking over the role, effective from May 1, 2024.

Metzen joins Deutsche Bank from Google, where she served as Head of Government Affairs and Public Policy for Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. Prior to this, she held the position of General Manager at the American Chamber of Commerce in Germany.

In her new role at Deutsche Bank, Metzen will be responsible for managing government and public affairs in Germany. She will report to Stephen Fisher, who will oversee her work at the bank.

Metzen's tenure at the American Chamber of Commerce in Germany precedes her role at Deutsche Bank. Before joining Google, she served as General Manager at the chamber, a position that saw her play a pivotal role in fostering strong relationships between American and German businesses.

Metzen has also held a position at Google, where her role encompassed Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. During her time at Google, she was a managing board member of Atlantik-Brücke, a transatlantic forum for dialogue and cooperation. Friedrich Merz served as the chairman of Atlantik-Brücke during Metzen's tenure.

Sven Afhüppe, the individual who previously held the position of Head of Government & Public Affairs Germany at Deutsche Bank, has left the bank at the end of last year. Metzen will succeed Afhüppe, taking over the role on May 1, 2024.

Deutsche Bank's announcement marks a significant change in its leadership, as it navigates the complex landscape of government and public affairs in Germany. Metzen's extensive experience and expertise in this field are expected to bring valuable insights and leadership to the bank.
