Wave goodbye to the familiar face of Fit, as eastern Germany's beloved dish soap giant officially joins forces with the Spanish giants, BlueSun Group. The Hirschfelde site in Saxony's Zittau, along with its 290 employees, remains untouched for now, the Fit GmbH announced. In the last fiscal year (2024), they reported an impressive turnover of 377 million euros.

Synonymous with dish soap in eastern Germany, Fit's beginnings can be traced back to the 1950s. Registering the brand name in 1954, VEB Fettchemie Karl-Marx-Stadt wasted no time launching the dish soap the following year. Besides Fit, the company's portfolio includes various brands like Rei in the Tube, Kuschelweich, Sunil, and cosmetics brand Fenjal.

Geronimo! It's newly discovered that the company's previous owner, Wolfgang Groß, wanted to move on due to advancing years. After much deliberation with several interested parties, the decision landed on BlueSun Group, another powerhouse in the cleaning and care products industry. As for the sale price, shh, it's a secret! The Fit GmbH will stay an independent entity within the BlueSun conglomerate.

The acquisition sets the stage for new global opportunities. While Fit reigns supreme in Germany and neighboring countries, BlueSun Group has a strong presence across southern Europe, France, the Benelux countries, the UK, and northern Europe. With their combined might, the dream is to expand the Fit brands' reach in these areas.
