Hop on board as we delve into the thrilling transformation of Courvoisier, the beloved cognac Maison that's all about spreading joy and embracing life's simple pleasures! Established by Félix Courvoisier way back in 1828, this revered brand is stepping into a new era, taking inspiration from its roots while forging ahead with a contemporary twist.
A Celebration of Everyday Joy
Brace yourselves for the rollout of a revamped packaging design, echoing the iconic style from centuries past that made Courvoisier shine during the Belle Époque era and the opulent royal courts of Europe in the 20th century. Courvoisier is poised to redefine the cognac category with a vibrant brand world that embodies the French spirit of "joie de vivre."
Managing Director of Maison Courvoisier, Jon Potter, exclaimed, "We are entering a golden age for Courvoisier! This is an exhilarating time for our house, as we return to our origins and honor what Félix Courvoisier established all those years ago. From our home in Jarnac to our lineup of exceptional floral cognacs, our Maison welcomes everyone with open arms."
Farewell, Patrice Pinet, and a Warm Welcome to Thibaut Hontanx
Amid this exciting shift, Courvoisier has bid adieu to Patrice Pinet, its sixth Chief Blender, who's been at the helm for quite some time. Pinet's illustrious journey began with Courvoisier as a production manager in 1989, followed by his appointment as Chief Blender in 2009. Under his capable guidance, Courvoisier garnered widespread acclaim and became the Most Awarded Cognac House.
Preparing to pass the baton, Pinet has selected Thibaut Hontanx as his successor and the Maison's seventh Chief Blender. Hontanx, known for his meticulous craftsmanship and innovative spirit, has served as Master Distiller, making him an ideal choice to carry on the tradition as he delves into the role of Courvoisier's head cognac maker.
"It's a tremendous honor to continue bringing Courvoisier's dreams to fruition," said Hontanx. "As the new guardian of this exceptional range of cognacs, I will uphold Maison Courvoisier's commitment to our dedicated artisans in Jarnac, understanding that each dropof our cognac is a testament to their collective effort."
Welcome Yinka Ilori: The New Global Ambassador of Joy
In addition to its audacious rebirth, Courvoisier is partnering with vibrant artist and designer Yinka Ilori. As the Maison's inaugural Global "Ambassador of Joy," Ilori will spread Courvoisiois's philosophy— "We Found Joy" —through a series of immersive global events, paying tribute to the captivating beauty of summer days in Jarnac, France.
"Color reigns supreme in my work, creating laughter and bridging connections between people," said Yinka Ilori. "Like Courvoisier, my designs are inspired by the community and its collective energy, and I couldn't be more excited to serve as the Maison's first Global Ambassador of Joy."
