Lax Regulations Urged for Construction Industry by Saxon Artisans

If the construction industry is to overcome its present woes, the Saxon crafts sector advocates swifter endorsements, cut-throat regulations, and streamlined processes. Uwe Nostitz, President of the Saxon Craftsmen's Association, vocalized these concerns at a gathering in Dresden, stating that "the predicament remains marked by a dearth of orders and steep costs, leading to inflated construction prices."
Addressing the housing shortage necessitates smoothing the construction industry's path to recovery. Since 2022, the Association reports a downward spiral in authorized apartments, from an annual tally of more than 10,000 in the Free State to merely 7,133 in 2024.
