Berlin Bike Parade on Sunday to Cause Motor Traffic Disruptions

A cycling extravaganza under the slogan "Everyone on a bike!" will take over the streets of Berlin on Sunday, leaving motor vehicle traffic temporarily disrupted on various routes. The objective of this event is to culminate at the Environmental Festival at the Brandenburg Gate, which is anticipated to draw participants from across Europe.

Two major highways, the Avus (A115) and A100, will be closed in both directions between 12 and 4:30 pm. This closure will encompass sections of A100 between Oberlandstraße and Dreieck Funkturm, and sections of Avus between Kreuz Zehlendorf and Messedamm. In addition, a series of city streets, including Messedamm, Kaiserdamm, Bismarckstraße, Ernst-Reuter-Platz, Straße des 17. Juni, Großer Stern, Hofjägerallee, Klingelhoferstraße, Lützowufer, Schöneberger Ufer, and Tempelhofer Ufer, will also be closed during the same timeframe. Once the cyclists have passed, these road sections will be progressively reopened for traffic.

While other events such as the Karneval der Kulturen with extensive road closures take place in the following week, it is this specific bike parade in Berlin on Sunday causing the mentioned traffic disruptions. For detailed updates and road closure information, it is advisable to consult local news or announcements from Berlin's authorities.
