Construction of Alzey-Dautenheim road is in progress
News Article: L409 Renovation on Brunnen Street Scheduled for October 2025
The Regional Mobility Authority (RMA) Worms has announced plans for a significant renovation of the L409 route in Alzey-Dautenheim, focusing on Brunnen Street. The project, aiming to improve road conditions and infrastructure, is set to begin in October 2025.
Construction Schedule
The construction schedule for this extensive renovation includes three consecutive phases, each under full closure. The exact start date within October will be announced closer to the time. The duration of the works is expected to last several weeks to a few months, depending on weather and project developments. Work hours will typically be daytime hours from Monday through Friday, with possible limited weekend work for critical phases.
Traffic Rerouting
During the construction, traffic on L409 will be partially or fully diverted to ensure worker safety and maintain traffic flow. Local detours will be set up, directing vehicles to alternative routes around Alzey-Dautenheim. Signage will be installed well in advance to guide drivers through the rerouting. Emergency and local resident access will be maintained throughout the construction period. Public transport schedules may be temporarily adjusted to accommodate detours.
Renovation Details
The renovation works on Brunnen Street will cover a length of approximately 600 meters and last for about six weeks. Traffic will be rerouted via Gau-Heppenheim, Framersheim, and Alzey during the renovation. Approximately 2,000 vehicles use the local bypass daily.
The reason for the renovation is road damage: cracks and deformations have affected the road. The total cost of the renovation is approximately 250,000 euros, to be borne by the state of Rhineland-Palatinate.
For the most accurate and up-to-date information, including exact start dates, detailed detour maps, and any changes to the schedule, it is recommended to consult RMA Worms announcements or local municipal communications as the project start approaches. The RMA plans to provide detailed information to the public before the start of the works.
