City Temporarily Closes Evreux Ring Crossing for Bridge Inspections
The city has temporarily closed the cycle and pedestrian crossing over the Evreux ring at Ostpark due to ongoing investigations. The city appreciates the understanding of all road users and aims to keep disruptions to a minimum.
The bridge structures under scrutiny include the pedestrian and cycle crossing Kurt-Schumacher-Ring at the height of the Böllenseesiedlung, the crossing Oppenheimer Street over the Kurt-Schumacher-Ring, the crossing Alzeyer Street over the Kurt-Schumacher-Ring, and the crossing Kurt-Schumacher-Ring over the B43 (Rugby ring).
In the coming weeks, investigations will extend to four more bridge structures in succession. The duration of the work on the Evreux ring crossing remains uncertain, as it depends on the findings of structural engineers and laboratories. During the investigations, restricted use of the bridges can be expected, including possible closures of parts or narrowing of lanes underneath.
Once the investigations are completed, the city will present a five-year program outlining the repairs needed for the bridges and the expected repair costs.
