City of Arnsberg secures property at "Under Lüsenberg 6-10" - smoothing the way for metropolitan advancement
In a significant move, the city of Arnsberg has acquired the property 'Unterm Luisenberg 6-10' for urban development, as announced by the municipal council in March 2025. The property, spanning over 3,000 m², includes a semi-detached house and a former commercially used storage and production building.
The political decision to acquire the property was made with the intention of providing temporary accommodation for refugee families. Two families will be housed in the residential property, which is planned to be made habitable by the end of 2025.
Building rights for the acquired area already exist, ensuring a smooth transition for the urban development project. However, no new building rights have been announced, and further details about the development plans for the property remain undisclosed.
Safety measures have been initiated on the property, with the clearing work completed and sealing of the air-raid shelter underway. An adjacent, decommissioned air-raid shelter is part of the property, but it will remain sealed.
Meanwhile, the storage and production building is scheduled for demolition by the end of 2025. The semi-detached house, on the other hand, will be made habitable for temporary use by the same deadline.
