Chubb Limited Announces Leadership Changes in Global Surety
Chubb Makes Major Leadership Decisions in the Global and North American Units of its Surety Business
Two veteran executives at Chubb Limited, Steve Haney and Teresa Black, have taken on new roles within the company's Global Surety division.
Effective immediately, Steve Haney has been promoted to the position of President and Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO) of Global Surety. In this role, he will oversee strategy, underwriting, and profit and loss (P&L) for Chubb's global surety business. Haney will report to Juan Luis Ortega, Executive Vice President and President of North America Insurance, and Paul McNamee, Executive Vice President and President of Overseas General Insurance.
Haney, who joined Chubb in 1997 as a surety underwriter, brings nearly 30 years of underwriting experience to the position. Prior to this promotion, he served as Vice President and Division President of North America Surety, as well as CUO of Global Surety. His extensive experience with Chubb, combined with his strategic insights and ability to implement innovative solutions, make him well-equipped to lead growth and strengthen global surety capabilities.
Meanwhile, Teresa Black has been promoted to Division President of North America Surety. Black, who previously served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of North America Surety, will now hold executive oversight and P&L responsibility for the North America Surety division. She will report to Steve Haney and Scott Meyer, Senior Vice President and COO of North America Insurance.
Black has over 28 years of insurance industry experience, more than 20 of which have been with Chubb. She has demonstrated leadership in various facets of the business, including distribution management, financial lines, and regional segment leadership. Her proven track record, including serving as COO in Chubb's Surety business, positions her well for success in her new role.
The appointments of Haney and Black are significant moves within Chubb's Global Surety division. Both executives have shown a commitment to the company and a proven ability to drive growth and deliver results. Their new roles are expected to contribute to Chubb's continued success in the global surety market.
