Checkpoints for Weight Control Established on Kolyma Highway
Mobile weigh stations have commenced operations on the federal highway known as Kolyma, effective May 25th. The stations will be stationed at km 177+960 (Chuрапcha village) and km 264+800 (Ытыk-Кюель village) until July 16th. This announcement comes from the Federal Budgetary Institution "Uprdor "Vilyui".
The area of focus for these stations is the road between Churapchinsky and Tatinsky districts, where resurfacing issues have been identified. Over the next year, road services will undertake significant repair work on this road section, extending between the second Harbala village in Chuрапcha and Kyi village in Tatіn, and continuing to Ытык-Кюель.
Crews aim to improve travel safety and prolong the life of the road by addressing the poor road conditions in this area. Motorists should anticipate occasional lane closures and traffic management measures while these projects are in progress.
Particular attention will be given to the mobile weigh stations, which have been implemented to monitor vehicle weights and prevent damage to the repaired roadways from overweight vehicles. Inspections will likely occur during daytime working hours, although specific timings will be announced locally.
Drivers are encouraged to plan for potential delays, follow traffic signs, and comply with instructions from road workers. Regular checks on local traffic updates are recommended to keep up-to-date with repair progress and weigh station operations.
The mobile weigh stations, stationed along the Kolyma highway, will focus on monitoring vehicle weights in the public-transit sector, particularly within the road transportation segment between Churapchinsky and Tatinsky districts. To ensure safety and prolong the life of the repaired roadways, finance from the industry sector may be necessary for the extensive repair work on this section of the highway, which includes the second Harbala village in Churapchinsky, the road between Harbala and Kyi in Tatіn, and ending at Ытык-Кюель.
