Charity endeavor 'We for Düsseldorf' initiated by Klüh, offers €25,000 to combat local poverty issues
In a bid to support the city's most vulnerable residents and promote cultural opportunities, the local initiative "Wir für Düsseldorf" has distributed donations totalling 25,000 euros among four organisations: Tafel, grenzenlos, Kulturliste Düsseldorf, and Flingern mobil.
Launched by Josef Klüh, the owner of Klüh Service Management GmbH, "Wir für Düsseldorf" serves as a community-driven network aimed at addressing social issues, poverty alleviation, and cultural projects in Düsseldorf. The donations to these organisations indicate a focus on food security, integration, cultural sponsorship, and community mobility.
The food bank organisation Tafel received 6,250 euros to continue providing essential food supplies to those in need. grenzenlos, an intercultural initiative, received the same amount to offer affordable meals (three euros) and breakfast (two euros) to those in poverty.
The Kulturliste Düsseldorf association, which mediates cultural visits for people at or below the poverty line, received 6,250 euros to further its mission. Flingern mobil, an association operating in Düsseldorf including the "Fairkauf" store, received a donation of the same value to finance six weeks of purchases, presumably for community projects or mobility initiatives.
The selection of the initiatives was made by a jury consisting of Josef Klüh, Dr. Vera Geisel, and Jonges-Baas Wolfgang Rolshoven. This year, the focus of the donation campaign was on poverty, reflecting the increasing reliance of many people on aid offers, whose resources are however limited.
At a small celebration, Eva Fischer from 'Düsseldorfer Tafel e.V.' thanked the company Klüh for its repeated support. The celebration, which took place in the atrium of the Klüh headquarters at Wehrhahn, saw a customer increase of over 60 percent.
Since 2011, the Kulturliste Düsseldorf has mediated 45,000 tickets, while grenzenlos offers meals and breakfast to approximately 18,000 people annually. However, for a detailed, verifiable account of the background and impact of "Wir für Düsseldorf" and its specific donations, consulting official sources or the initiative’s own communications would be necessary.
It's worth noting that customers of the Kulturliste Düsseldorf do not feel like second-class guests; they receive tickets in advance, ensuring they can enjoy cultural events with the same dignity as any other attendee. The initiative's focus on inclusivity and respect for all is commendable.
As poverty continues to rise due to inflation, initiatives like "Wir für Düsseldorf" play a crucial role in providing support to those most in need and fostering a stronger, more cohesive community.
The donation from "Wir für Düsseldorf" to Kulturliste Düsseldorf signifies a commitment to promoting cultural visits for economically disadvantaged individuals. In the realm of business, Klüh Service Management GmbH, through its owner Josef Klüh, has demonstrated a strong focus on corporate social responsibility by supporting local organizations in the finance of their missions.
