Cham Company Owner Fined €51,150 for Wage Fraud
A company based in the Cham district has been found guilty of wage fraud. The Regensburg Local Court sentenced the company owner to a fine of 51,150 euros for withholding and misappropriating wages of three installers, who were allegedly self-employed but worked like regular employees.
The company employed the installers from 2016 to 2021, avoiding paying social security contributions worth approximately 165,000 euros over the years. The owner also failed to report the installers' wages, amounting to nearly 1.5 million euros, to the social security office. The Regensburg Public Prosecutor's Office charged the company owner with these offenses, leading to the recent court ruling.
The company owner was fined 51,150 euros and ordered to pay the withheld social security contributions and court costs. The court's decision sends a clear message that such practices will not be tolerated, and businesses must comply with wage and social security contribution laws.
