Central LGPS selects new chairperson
In a significant move for the UK's local government pension pool, Nemone Wynn-Evans has been appointed as Non-Executive Director and Chair Elect of LGPS Central Limited. This announcement was made by the current Chair, Joanne Segars, who revealed that Wynn-Evans will take over the role when Segars' term ends in late October.
Wynn-Evans' appointment comes at a crucial juncture for LGPS Central as it embarks on the next phase of its pooling journey. The aim is to maximise benefits for its partner funds and the wider Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) community.
With a wealth of experience in the financial services and energy sectors, Wynn-Evans brings a strong leadership background to her new role. She is currently Chair of Hinckley & Rugby Building Society and holds directorships at Redmayne Bentley LLP and Gresham House Income & Growth VCT plc. Previously, she has chaired Shepherds Friendly Society and held executive roles in corporate finance, investor relations, and governance.
Wynn-Evans is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment and holds an MBA from Cranfield School of Management. Her appointment follows the unanimous approval of shareholders, and subject to regulatory approval, she will formally take up the Chair role on November 1, 2025.
