Celebration of LTO 7's Road Safety Week in Cebu City
Spiel: The Land Transportation Office (LTO) 7 takes the steering wheel for a comprehensive road safety shindig at IL Corso, Cebu City, during the Road Safety Week, set to run from Monday, May 19, 2025, to Friday, May 23, 2025. This ride's part of the national road safety month extravaganza happening in May.
LTO 7 Regional Director Glen G. Galario will lead the charge, hosting an awareness-raising powwow across Central Visayas for five hearty days starting from Monday.
A coordination summit took place on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, inviting accredited driving schools, transportation operators, truckers' associations, motorcycle clubs, local administrations, the Highway Patrol Group, advocacy groups, and other stakeholders.
"This event's all about a united push – not just from the government, but also from our private partners – to keep the road safety awareness engine revving well past Road Safety Month," said Galario.
The event will begin with a safety awareness parade, attended by partnering agencies and stakeholders, traveling from IL Corso to Cebu City Hall and back. The parade will symbolize the commitment to carry on and intensify the pursuit of safer roads in the whole region.
"We'll get revved up with a road safety awareness parade, with our partners by our side, starting from IL Corso and ending at Cebu City Hall, returning to IL Corso," Galario shared.
The Road Safety Week will host a Road Safety Fair at IL Corso, bringing together various organizations. During the fair, LTO 7's E-Patrol will provide public services.
Since the corporate community is pitching in, the public will reap the benefits of discounted prices for Theoretical Driving Course (TDC) seminars – a crucial requirement for student permit applicants. Galario announced that partner driving schools have pledged 2,700 discount vouchers for TDC courses, available throughout the week-long event.
"Our partner driving schools are stepping up big-time, committing to doling out 2,700 discount vouchers for TDC courses," Galario declared.
Galario hinted that representatives from various transport groups will shoulder their responsibilities and collaborate with LTO 7 to guarantee public safety on the roads. The public is encouraged to join the caravan crusading against traffic-related mishaps and fostering a more conscious road culture in Central Visayas.
