New Leadership at the Metals Industry Association

The Metals Industry Association (MIA) has announced a change in leadership within its Politics & Communications department, with Sylvia Postranecky and Katrin Schön taking on joint roles as the new leaders. The change took effect on April 1.

Sylvia Postranecky, who now serves as the Head of Politics & Communications, will oversee the department's activities and manage communication strategies, representing the association's interests in political and public spheres. Katrin Schön, the new Communications Manager, will be responsible for managing the association’s communication efforts, including media relations, public outreach, and supporting the overall communication strategy under Postranecky's leadership.

Both Postranecky and Schön bring extensive experience in political communications and trade association work to their new roles. They will work together to shape the public image and political engagement of the MIA, effectively advocating for the interests of the metals sector.

Teresa Schad, who previously led the department, has left the association at her own request and is taking a career break. Schad had been with the MIA for seven years.

Postranecky and Schön report directly to the management board of the MIA. They will jointly represent the industry's interests moving forward.

The MIA is the organization where this change in leadership occurred. The new leaders are expected to continue the department's achievements, which typically include successful communication campaigns, enhanced stakeholder engagement, and influencing policy discussions relevant to the metals industry. However, specific detailed achievements are not publicly specified.

This change marks an exciting new chapter for the MIA's Politics & Communications department, and we look forward to seeing the impact of Postranecky and Schön's leadership.

The Metals Industry Association's Politics & Communications department, under the new leadership of Sylvia Postranecky and Katrin Schön, will focus on finance-related matters, as Postranecky will manage communication strategies to advocate for the association's interests in political and public spheres, while Schön will handle media relations and public outreach to support the overall communication strategy. The business implications of this change include the continuation of successful communication campaigns, enhanced stakeholder engagement, and influencing policy discussions relevant to the metals industry.
