Bus companies disclose terminal times for buses at EU border checkpoints

The unexpected queues at the "Kamenny Log" and "Brest" checkpoints on the Belarus-EU border have caused concern for travellers planning trips in the region. As of August 9, 2025, no new information is available regarding the cause of these queues.

If you find yourself in a hurry, choosing the "Beniakoni" checkpoint route might be advantageous, as the situation at this checkpoint remains calm, with buses following their schedule strictly. However, passengers are advised to consider the changing circumstances at both the "Kamenny Log" and "Brest" checkpoints when planning their trips.

The average wait time for border crossing at the "Brest" checkpoint is approximately 20 hours, while the wait times at the "Kamenny Log" checkpoint have increased significantly, with some trips delayed by 7-10 hours. As of 5 August evening, there are 29 buses in the queue to exit Belarus at the "Brest" checkpoint, and 13 buses at the "Kamenny Log" checkpoint.

Atlas service representatives have reported a change in the border crossing situation at the beginning of August, but no specific cause has been identified for the unexpected queues at the "Kamenny Log" checkpoint. Sometimes, the processing at the "Kamenny Log" checkpoint stops, causing further delays.

On the other hand, the situation at the "Beniakoni" checkpoint (Lithuanian side - "Shalčininkai") remains calm, with no buses in the queue to exit Belarus. The State Border Committee reports the same, with no buses in the queue as of 5 August evening.

The Lithuanian direction was relatively calm among bus passengers recently. Meanwhile, large queues of private cars continue to form on the Polish route, with 2330 cars waiting to enter (according to the electronic waiting system).

For up-to-date wait times at these border checkpoints, travellers are advised to consult official border authorities' websites, real-time border traffic monitoring services, or local news sources. It's essential to stay informed and plan accordingly to ensure a smooth border crossing experience.

  1. The changes in the border crossing situation have impacts on multiple industries, such as transportation and automotive, as the wait times at the "Kamenny Log" and "Brest" checkpoints have increased significantly, affecting travel plans.
  2. In contrast to the delays at the "Kamenny Log" and "Brest" checkpoints, the finance industry could potentially benefit from the advantageous situation at the "Beniakoni" checkpoint, where no buses are in the queue, offering a quicker border crossing option.
