Bugatti Divo exhibit at Petersen Automotive Museum; prospective sale price estimated at $9 million.
The highly anticipated Quail Auction during Northern California's Monterey Car Week will showcase over 100 lots, but the star of the show is undoubtedly the pristine 2020 Bugatti Divo.
This exotic car is not the only rare vehicle being showcased at the Quail Auction. The Bugatti Divo, one of only 40 examples made, is part of the Future Classics Collection, a showcase of contemporary apex automobiles.
The Divo, developed under the guidance of Stephan Winkelmann, has been engineered with a focus on cornering, delivering lateral acceleration of 1.6 g. This high-performance acumen seems to extend to its return on investment, as this particular example, initially priced at $5.8 million, is now expected to fetch between $7 million and $9 million.
This pristine Divo example, which has had only two stewards since leaving the factory in Molsheim, France, is being offered at auction by Bonhams|Cars on August 15, without reserve. The Bugatti Divo has a top speed of 236 mph and generates 1,005 pounds of downforce.
The Future Classics Collection also includes other coveted vehicles, such as a 2021 Bugatti Chiron Pur Sport, valued at up to $4.25 million, and a 2017 Pagani Huayra Roadster, with a high-end estimate of $3.6 million. The estimated value of the Future Classics Collection is roughly $30 million.
The Bugatti Divo has been showcased at the Petersen Automotive Museum's "Hypercars: The Allure of the Extreme" exhibition, further cementing its status as a modern automotive icon.
The 2020 Bugatti Divo sold for $8,557,500 at the Bonhams auction during Monterey Car Week in 2024, matching the high estimate range of around $7 million to $9 million [3][4]. This sale represented one of only 40 built models with under 800 miles on it [1][4].
The 2022 Apollo Intensa Emozione "Ocean Dragon" is also part of the Future Classics Collection, valued between $2.5 million and $3.5 million. The Quail Auction promises to be a spectacle of automotive excellence, with the Bugatti Divo leading the charge.
