New Connection Established: Jumeirah to Infinity Bridge Crossing Reduces Commute by a Whopping 67% via RTA's Latest Infrastructure

In a significant development for Dubai's infrastructure, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has recently unveiled a new bridge connecting Jumeirah Street to Al Mina Street. This 985-meter-long, two-lane bridge plays a vital role in improving traffic flow along the busy Al Shindagha Corridor.

Located at the intersection of Sheikh Rashid Road, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Street, and the Falcon Intersection on Al Mina Street, the new bridge has already reduced travel time from Jumeirah Street to Infinity Bridge by 67%, making the journey from 12 minutes to just 4 minutes.

The new bridge is part of Phase 4 of the Al Shindagha Corridor Improvement Project, a 4.8-kilometre upgrade that also includes five additional bridges totalling 3.1 kilometres. Major road upgrades are also planned along Jumeirah Street, Al Mina Street, and Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah Street as part of the Phase 4 works.

Two pedestrian bridges are planned as well, aiming to improve safety and accessibility. The upcoming structure can accommodate 3,200 vehicles per hour, with the upcoming 780-meter bridge expected to accommodate up to 4,800 vehicles per hour, further enhancing Dubai's road network efficiency.

The five additional bridges are designed to handle 19,400 vehicles per hour, contributing to the overall goal of the Al Shindagha Corridor Improvement Project: to reduce travel times from the current 104 minutes to just 16 minutes upon completion.

RTA reaffirmed its commitment to aligning with Dubai's leadership vision by addressing the city's growing urban and traffic demands through infrastructure that supports smoother mobility. The new bridge eliminates the need to stop at signals, enabling uninterrupted traffic movement.

While the exact timeline for the completion of the entire Al Shindagha Corridor Improvement Project is not specified, the project remains in various stages of development, with work on the first phase reaching 45% completion. The search results also indicate ongoing work on significant components such as the recently opened Infinity Bridge and a planned 1.42 km bridge linking Bur Dubai to Dubai Islands, which is expected to be completed by 2026.

The new bridge, designed for improved safety and traffic flow, demonstrates the RTA's commitment to Dubai's leadership vision. As part of Dubai's transport industry, it aims to enhance the city's finance and overall economy by reducing travel times significantly. With a capacity of 3,200 vehicles per hour, it sets the stage for further increases in efficiency as more infrastructure developments, such as the pedestrian bridges and additional bridges, are completed, aligning with industry standards for safety and productivity.
