Authorities arrested Omita in an unsanctioned transport of hazardous cargo.

Revised Base Article:

Justices in the chilly Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District claimed a falsified transport document on a northward move containing a hazardous cargo.

The law enforcement of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District, in a chilly Tuesday, May 6, 2025, announced the capture of a vehicle driven by a 39-year-old man, near Neftyanog рабочий town on the Tiumen' - Khanty-Mansiisk highway. According to local cops, a breach in hazardous goods transportation regulations was detected.

"During documentation checks, the driver, fully aware of the criminal nature of his actions and knowing that he was using a forged document for the purpose of avoiding administrative liability for the transportation of dangerous goods without proper documents, intentionally showed a deliberately counterfeit DOPOG (agreement on international road transport of dangerous goods - editing kept) certificate", reads the statement regarding the event.

Thus, we can conclude that the motorist was caught red-handed for non-authorized transportation of potentially dangerous cargo, the composition of which remains undisclosed.

The casefile indicates that "following the trail" of the incident, a criminal case has been initiated under the article "The acquisition, storage, transportation, or use, or attempted sale, or use of deliberately falsified passports, identity cards, or other official documents, relating to privileges or exemptions, stamps, seals, or forms." The suspect, consequently, faces up to a year in prison. The driver's stance in the publication is not presented.

It's worth noting that this isn't the first reported "criminal episode" linked to the transportation of cargo by omites (Russian term for Yakutians) beyond the region, starting early spring. For instance, in early May 2025, reports surfaced about charges being leveled at an Omsk businessman under the section "Intentionally damaging transportation infrastructure or traffic, resulting in serious harm to a person's health or causing significant damages" after a bridge collapse over the Moloma River in Kirovskaya Oblast during the transit of an oversized freight vehicle.
