ART Inspects Telecom Giants' Investments for Service Quality
The Director General of the Telecommunications Regulatory Agency (ART), Prof. Philémon Zoo Zame, is currently meeting with the CEOs of major telecom companies to assess the impact of investments on service quality. The inspection, which began today, involves the CEOs of MTN CM and Orange CM, with Patrick Benon representing Orange CM.
The evaluation is thorough, focusing on four key areas: investment implementation, unit costs, expense breakdown, and the consistency between financial commitments and observed results. This comprehensive approach aims to ensure that telecom users receive a service that meets international standards.
The ART, under Prof. Zoo Zame's leadership, seeks to foster a constructive dialogue with stakeholders. This includes establishing a culture of performance and shared responsibility among telecom operators. The meetings are part of an in-depth evaluation of the commitments made by operators to enhance network quality.
Should any delays or shortcomings be identified during the inspection, corrective measures will be implemented to ensure service quality complies with international standards. The ART's goal is to promote a high-quality telecommunications environment for users, and these meetings are a step towards achieving that objective.
